This is a copy of an original oil entitled: "White Roses", by Paul deLongpre. The white roses are in a clear glass pitcher with a posy of violets next to the pitcher and some violets draped over the handle. He was a famous French and American flower painter. He was born near Lyon, France in 1855, and died June 29, 1911 in Hollywood, Ca. He was born into a family of artists. deLongpe came to New York city around 1890, and then the lure of flowers brought him to California in 1898.
